Our project

 Quite a while ago Mr abbot had gotten us Minecraft and it has monthly challenges and there is a desert island. That we have to do and we had to build something on an island what I had built was a nice house with lots of styles added to it and I also had some help to make a ship for the build we did not have much time left so we had to just come up with something real fast and the ship did not turn out amazing but for only a little bit of time left, I think it is fine. Same with the house I had used stone bricks and spruces logs at first it was pretty bad but after a while, it had turned out to be something that other people liked a lot. We also have to put photos on the document. The reason why we had done this is that the teachers wanted to see us all play Minecraft and see what we could build and I think my house had turned out really well even tho it’s not all done I still think it is very good. Most people had made mansions but we had just to make a basic house

Where I've been

 We haven't been able to blog for 2 months straight because we didn't meet the criteria to be able to blog. So we couldn't blog but that didn't stop us from not doing our blogs. We didn't do it on blogger but we did use google sites and write our blogs on there but we haven't published them yet. Maniakalani  told us to not use blogger until they found something out. We had to learn about changing the background and all kinds of really cool stuff on Google Sites. But we had to wait 2 months, but better late than never. we learnt that we don't need good equipment to make it happen.

Our amazing bike ride

 Mum and I were on a bike ride while we saw a lamb we said hi but then it unexpectedly jumped on its mother he loved it outside considering that its spring he loves it outside he's a very silly lamb. did you know that lambs have 32 teeth, just like humans. They also have four stomach compartments they also become stressed when isolated. They can remember faces for over 2 years 

Alien Baking

 I did baking with my mom and my sister, we made cupcakes they looked trash but they tasted amazing. We made our cupcakes with 60gr of butter,2 eggs and half a cup of milk we then added frosting. We used 80g/4tbsp of soft butter and 10ml/2 tsp of milk then baked the stuff for 20 to 25 mins and we mixed it before. that they came out looking alien like because we added blue food coloring to the cupcake dough to make some of them light blue.  

The Amazing Olympics Of 2020

Ruma Kereru and Ruma Piwakawaka have been watching the Olympics, we love watching the Olympics we have been watching New Zealand do rugby rowing, and more. I route for Japan and New Zealand. When I'm making this blog Japan is winning with 13 gold metals 4 Silvers and 5 Bronze. New Zealand has 1 Gold 2 Silvers 1 Bronze. When someone makes a try or something most of the boys yell and stuff but it's really loud some people even went outside. anyways New Zealand won a few Silvers from playing Rugby 7s. Also,

I think some from rowing.

I love watching the Olympics because we get sessions that the class can watch Olympics but we have only a very small session though.

Kererus Fantastic Flax Bowls

Yesterday Kereru made Harakeke plates or flax bowls and if we did finish we could hold sausages with them I really don't know why just but if we don't we will not get sausages but yeah they were really hard to make. You need to weave and it's just genuinely hard but some people are just really good like Lizzie, she helped multiple people. I think this was a fun but frustrating task. Have you ever made something with Flax? if you have was it fun or frustrating? This took most of us a day and a half or more know the people that did make one can get free sausages this was really fun it was one of the most fun thing in a while. We had a helper here to show us how to make them Leon lucky gave the helper his flax and then Leon had a really good one. I nearly gave up but I kept going      

 

Kereus Emily Carr art

Emily Carr was a Canadian artist that loved to draw trees she does lots of swervy art Emily carr had a 3 Millon dollar art piece. It doubles when artists die that's why it costs so much money to buy and the older it is the price gets more expensive. We made trees in term one and in term 2 we made another tree and background I enjoyed it a lot. Are you interested in looking at Emily's Carrs art? Or become an artist when you're older.  

   

How to spot fake news! Dont be fooled

We have been learning how to spot fake news if you want to know how to spot fake news read this blog. If you believe something on the internet and want to share it with your friends you should check if it has spelling errors or if there are other documents like it. Like the Pacific Northwest  Tree Octopus that is fake news because it has spelling errors and anyways there is a few websites about it and they are all not prober like not from the government or something similar than that. The fake articles like the Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus might make it hard to read the background is green the writing is green blending in with the background. Do you think you have read a fake article?      

Kereru's Scary Athletics

Last week on Thursday Kaniere school went to athletics and, believe it or not, I got to the districts for discus and shotput.  I think that I got like 9 meters or something for shotput and for discus I got 11.9 meters approximately. But time for the scary part  of this story, this is sad, when the year 6's were doing high jump the pole fell down and hit Ms. King and I think it put a cut her head. She had to go to the medical bay then went home.

We do athletics like this to compete and show sportsmanship.

Kererus Amazing Slam Poetry

You might think as Poetry UGH WHY But with Slam Poetry it turns UGHHGHGH Into ahaaahah (: In slam poetry you rap and talk about the environment. Ebook update!

We have been creating E-books so that when we have finished them Mr. Abbot is going to share them with the rest of the school. I have updated mine so now it has lots more writing on it. We went into Pobble 365 and choose a picture to get us started, with our story It was very fun. We had some funny stories and probably quite a lot of scary stories, Have you used Pobble365? Clued up Kidz!

 Four days ago Ruma Kereru went to clued-up kids. Clued-up kids is a place some schools go to, to learn what to do if you're in danger. I had so much fun we learned about fire danger and what to do when there is smoke in your eyes. We also learned about four-wheeler safety and what to do when there's something in front of you. We did kitchen safety and then we learned what to do if you were stabbed by a knife. We learned about trains and the trains cant just stop like ...SNAP! It takes about 30 seconds before the train stops after it hits the emergency button. Also never go behind a horse and be all excited or you might be kicked and there's a high chance you die if you get kicked. Anyways Have you went to clued-up kids? Or if you have did you like it? EBOOK

 Today we crafted an ebook. To do this we wrote a story, then went about recrafting our writing.   Recrafting means going back to your story and looking for opportunities to make the story better. 

We finished our ebook, it was a cool writing task. We got pictures from Pobble365 and then we just turned it into a story.  Pobble365 has images in it that you can scroll through and can pick the day on a calendar thing then Poof a picture appears. then you write about the photo you get given then you draw a picture in their head.

 This is my Kawa of care poster I made the poster in Canva it was cool! This was my first time using the Canva website It was really cool and easy when all the Posters that are finished they get printed. Then blue tacked onto the wall I was happy with my result, are you?
