we went to the beach the other day and then fond a sitck that looked like a camel or a dodo. But we also fond a slingshot made of wood. the corba shaped like a stick. The camel/dodo is Soras. The Corba is mine the slingshot is both of ours.
Hi Louis Wow! You have found very interesting pieces of driftwood! I wonder if somebody else was looking at this driftwood, would they see what you saw, or would they something different? This is because we all have different 'perceptions'. Do you know what perception means Louis?
Did you enjoy going to the beach Louis? I love going to the beach. Finding things that look like other things. We always come home with treasures. How well is your sling shot working??
Hi louis,I think it looks like a Dodo because of the hook on the end of its beak. Did you find any other interesting shapes? I always find some. Have you had target practise with your sling-shot?
Hi Louis What a great imagination you have. I love going the the beach to find treasures. I know that my husband just rolls his eyes and sighs every time I bring something else home.
I have a bowl of memory stones on my table that I have picked up in various places and at various times. I think it is lovely just to roll them around in my hand and think about the time I picked them up.
Have you practised with your slingshot? They are pretty tricky to get to work well. We always used willow to make them when I was a kid. Willow is quite springy wood so we found it propelled the stones further. I think that is why cricket bats are made out of willow. What material have you used to make the sling on your slingshot from?
After you get the perfect slingshot of course you need the perfect stones. What shape stones have you found the best? Has Sora got a slingshot and do you have competitions to determine who is the most accurate?
I like the action shot you have included in your post. Have you set up a target in your backyard to improve your aim? I suggest you don't practice inside. Mums tend to get a bit upset when kids use slingshots inside. I don't know why!
